Questions to mull over to help frame your ideas about the BC Developer's Exchange
Are you aware of available public sector digital resources? What has your experience been like?
What do you see as the opportunities, challenges and barriers to access?
What do you think are the public sector digital resources with the greatest commercial value?
What has your experience been in commercializing products and services that used public sector digital resources?
The BC Developer’s Exchange is focused on both expanding the availability of public sector digital resources and creating more opportunities for tech entrepreneurs to sell innovative products and services back to the public sector. What do you think needs to be in place to make this work?
What is the BC Developer’s Exchange?
It’s an experiment in tech innovation and collaboration. We want to build an ecosystem of innovation and collaboration between tech entrepreneurs and British Columbia's public sector.
Share British Columbia's public sector code, APIs and data with tech entrepreneurs and seed new business opportunities.
Collaborate in new ways with tech entrepreneurs to develop public sector code, APIs and technology products and services.
Build better digital services for the public sector.
As a start, the Province has joined GitHub. We are now exploring new ways to incentivize contributions, including code, from developers outside government.
Who Should Attend This Event?
Tech entrepreneurs on the hunt for new business opportunities, and those interested in open data, open source code and open collaboration between the private and public sector.
