    Announcing the creation of The Open Data Society of BC

    We are pleased to announce the creation of a grassroots organization to support the open data community in British Columbia.

    The Open Data Society of BC has recently been incorporated as a non-profit, member-driven organization created to promote and support open data initiatives.

    OpenDataBC has an API

    The OpenDataBC site now has an API that you can use to access the data catalogue. For now you can read the catalogue and perform live queries. We will be adding more features in the future. Please see the API page for instructions on how to use the API.

    October Hackathon

    The next OpenDataBC Hackathon will be October 22nd, 2011 at Bard & Banker in Victoria. The OpenDataBC Open Data Hackathon is an event for people of BC to get involved in open data and to inspire action to improve British Columbia open data and / or create new open data applications for the web and mobile devices. This event is the 9th of a series of monthly hackathons planned for 2011. More information can be found here.

    Data BC Hackathon Projects Posted
